Cowls for Aleppo

This is just a short post to share a project I started today – fundraising for civilians (particularly children) in need of aid in Aleppo. You can read more and donate on my Just Giving page: Cowls for Aleppo

Here’s what I wrote on the donation page:

I started crying on the treadmill at my gym today because of the programming on the TVs on the wall from Aleppo. My heart is breaking for the civilians of Syria – and particularly the children and orphans – who are hungry, frightened, endangered, dirty, and alone. I feel burdened to help in some way.

I am selling handmade cowls (also called infinity scarves) for $30 each. They make a great last-minute Christmas gift for friends, sisters, daughters, moms, and mother-in-laws and they add the perfect pop of color (not to mention added warmth) to any winter outfit. I will cover the cost of yarn and donate all proceeds to Syria Relief. Choose from any of the colors available here.

I will do my best to have all orders done by Christmas, but in the event that that is impossible, I will provide buyers with a printable card explaining the concept to give to the recipient and I will get the cowl to you ASAP.

I plan on donating anyway, but I thought I might as well turn this into a gift-giving opportunity so that people can use the spirit of holiday gift-giving as an opportunity to help those in need too.

I hope you’ll consider participating! I can ship cowls anywhere within the continental US and I will cover shipping charges.
